  1. MASS

    What are the Mass times?

    Daily Mass is celebrated at 8:00 a.m., Monday to Saturday.
    Weekend Masses are: Saturday 5:00 p.m.
    Sunday: 7:00 a.m., 8:00 a.m., 9:15 a.m., 10:45 a.m. 12:15 p.m. and 5:00 p.m.
    Summer: from 2nd Sunday of June to 1st Sunday of September - NO 5:00 p.m. Mass

    Does St. Victor�s Parish have a First Friday Mass in the evening?

    Yes, Mass is celebrated at 7:30 p.m. every First Friday in the Church. The 24-hour adoration of the Blessed Sacrament begins after the morning 8:00 a.m., Mass on First Friday and ends with a benediction on Saturday morning. The adoration of the Blessed Sacrament takes place in the chapel.

    I would like to offer a Mass for my loved ones, how do I do this?

    Contact the office (251-7055) where you can request a Mass intention for your loved ones. You can also request a person's name be mentioned in the prayer of the faithful if they are recently deceased.

  2. BAPTISM

    I would like to have my child baptized, how do I go about doing this?

    Baptismal font You should live within the Parish boundaries, regularly attend Mass here and/or be registered parishioners. To schedule a baptism, call the office. Forms will be mailed to you. Once the completed forms are received at the Rectory you will be called to schedule both the class and the baptism. (A prior class is honored for two years). Baptisms are celebrated every Sunday at 2:00 p.m. in the Church - by appointment only..

  3. CONFESSIONS

    When is confession?

    Confessions are heard every Saturday from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. However, if you cannot come at this time, call the Rectory for an appointment.

    Do you celebrate Communal Reconciliation?

    Yes, St. Victor�s Parish celebrates Communal Reconciliation during Advent and Lent.

  4. MARRIAGE

    How far in advance do I need to schedule a wedding?

    The San Jose Diocesan policy requires that couples book the wedding at least six months in advance. If you wish to have the wedding during some popular months of the year, it is suggested that you make arrangements at least eight months before your planned wedding. Here are the important requirements for the wedding:

  1. Sworn testimony of bride and bridegroom.
  2. Sworn testimony of closest relative or friend of bride or bridegroom
  3. Recent copy of the Baptismal Certificate.
  4. FOCCUS inventory
  5. Marriage Preparation classes or Engaged Encounter
  6. Family Planning classes
  7. Contact the wedding Coordinator - Joyce Denzel - to schedule an appointment for the wedding rehearsal. She can also tell you what is acceptable and permitted during the wedding.

    I do not belong to St. Victor�s parish, but I would like to get married in this Church, how do I go about doing this?

    Preferences for the use of the Church facilities are given to registered members of the Parish or to those who live within the parish boundaries. Request from Parishioners of other parishes are asked to contact their parish priests and to receive written permission to have the wedding solemnized at St. Victor�s. Paperwork and marriage preparation classes are to be done through their local parish. All canonical requirements must be completed and submitted to St. Victor�s one month before the wedding.

  1. BLESSING

    I would like to have my house blessed, how do I go about it?

    Call the rectory office to make an appointment. One of the priests will return your call.

    When can I have my car blessed?

    Just ask one of the priests to bless it after Mass on Sunday. If you want to make an appointment, then call the Office.



CATHECHETICAL INSTRUCTIONS
  1. WHAT IS CM?

    It stands for Catechetical Ministry. Briefly it is a program that teaches the children the basics of our Faith. See the section on the SACRAMENTS which explains at length the goals of CM. (This ministry used to be called CCD which stands for Confraternity of Christian Doctrine).  

    When do I enroll my child in CM?

    Call the CM office at (408) 251-0154 for the specific time and date of enrollment. Usually enrollment takes place towards the end of August and the beginning of September.

  2. FAITH MATTERS:

    Who do I contact for questions about becoming Catholics?

    Call Sr. Noreen Driscoll, C.S.J., pastoral associate and director of the RCIA

    When do RCIA classes start?

    Formation classes start in September of each year. The Sacraments are received at the Easter Vigil (Holy Saturday) evening service. Classes are once a week, usually on Tuesday evening.



MISCELLANEOUS

    Why do I need to register?

    All those who live in the boundary of St. Victor�s Parish are requested to register with the Rectory. There are several reasons for this request. First, registration gives you the right and privileges to use the services of the parish. Second, it is a sign that you are willing to participate fully in the work of the Church. Third, it is a way for the Parish to know the number of people who come and worship at St. Victor�s Parish so that it can better serve its parishioners. Your contributions are recorded for your tax records through the envelope system. To see the Parish boundaries - Click Here

    How do I register?

    There are several ways to do this. First, you can call the office (251-7055) and request that a form to be sent to you. Second, you can stop by the office and fill out the form. Third, you may pick up a form found in the vestibule of the church, fill it out and drop it in the collection basket. Fourth, click on "Welcome" below and click on "Registration form". 

    I would like to volunteer my time to the Church, can the church use my skills?

    The Church can certainly make use of your skills and talents. Look at the various ministries and organizations and call the Rectory (251-7055) to know the current leadership of the different groups or see the front cover of our parish Sunday bulletin. You may also contact the office and indicate where you may want to share your talents.

    . When is a good time to contact the parish?

    You can contact the priest during the regular hours, Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. In case of medical or death emergency and during off hours, call the office which has an answering machine with an Emergency Number for you to call. The Emergency Service will then contact one of the parish priests
